Amber Benson is an American actor, singer, writer and producer. Her most recognizable role is as Tara Maclay, in the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In addition to that she's produced, directed and starred for her own movies Chance and Lovers Liars & Lunatics. Additionally, she was her bridesmaid in the Kiss the Bride movie. Benson was the youngest of children born to Edward Benson and Diane Benson. Her birthplace was Birmingham in Alabama, on the 8th of January 1977. Danielle Benson is her younger artist sister. Benson attended a Reform Jewish synagogue when she was growing up. Her mother was a Southern Baptist and raised Jewish through her father, is as well Jewish.
